Light is right, well in the right situation.
So when ski touring or climbing straight forward high peaks why carry the heavy stuff.
I've been using the Roca Muk harness in conjunction with a nice light ice axe made by Reveltik.
The harness at first glance it may look like some weird piece of kinky lingerie but the weight of the thing is only 155gm's and fully rated this is perfect for skiing round the world's glaciers or climbing non technical terrain. I've used this on abseils and fixed line travel, even though there is no padding in the waist or leg loops it never caused any grief. Whenever there's only a slim chance of hanging for long periods of time then this little red beauty is the one.
